C&W global PR account for Finsbury

Cable & Wireless has picked Finsbury to handle its entire global

corporate and financial PR brief.



The agency replaces incumbent Brunswick, which loses the account after

four years.



C&W chose Finsbury following a final four-way pitch against Tulchan,

Brunswick and Financial Dynamics.



The brief - for an undisclosed fee - will be to provide strategic

corporate and financial PR advice for C&W internationally, but

concentrating on the UK, Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.



C&W director of corporate communications Susan Cottam said: 'We were

looking for financial and strategic corporate PR support to help us in

the way we tell the C&W corporate story to all the key media.'



Finsbury partner Rollo Head leads the account and a five-strong team,

with advice from founding partner Roland Rudd.



The agency plans to handle European PR from London, tapping into its

pan-European regulatory network, FIPRA - which is the acronym for

Finsbury international political and regulatory advisers - launched by

former GJW director Rory Chisholm in May last year.



Head added that the agency is currently in talks with a number of US

agencies over forming an affiliation, and is making plans for covering

the Far East.



On the remit, Head said: 'There's been a huge amount of change at C&W

over the last 18 months and they are looking to us to help better

communicate how they've changed and the direction they're going in.'
