Wrigley UK hands Jackie Cooper its consumer PR brief

Wrigley UK has made Jackie Cooper PR its first appointee in a

consumer promotions role.



The global gum giant already works with Luther Pendragon on corporate

strategy, TBP Eurobrand on communications with dentalcare professionals,

and James Reed PR on trade communication.



The account, to be led by Jackie Cooper and managed on a day-to-day

basis by associate director Anna Cowie, will report to Wrigley UK

communications manager Jo Hartop. It is understood that JCPR won the

brief after a three-way pitch.



Having agreed a 12-month contract with the firm, JCPR founding partner

Cooper defined the strategy as 'initiatives to hit the core markets in

the media they read, the places they go, and the friends they talk

to'.



JCPR's work will focus on the Orbit, Airwaves and Extra brands, as well

as providing Wrigley with its 'first general across the board

campaign'.



No research and evaluation appointment has been made, although Cooper

confirmed that it would play a 'very important' part in its campaign,

and an external appointment will 'probably' be made.
