Kcom, the telecoms company, has called in Rocket PR. The account was won in a competitive pitch process from incumbent Catalysis. Rocket will focus on building awareness of the Kcom brand with senior IT and business decision makers.

Joanna Randall has set up a PR and social media consultancy called PurpleFish PR. Randall was previously MD at Corixa Communications. She said: 'The traditional PR consultancy model cannot survive without digital expertise. PurpleFish PR has been set up to bridge the gap that often exists between PR and digital experts.'

Dollies and Dinosaurs, the children's clothing retailer, has asked Xpert Communications to oversee digital and social media PR in readiness for the launch of its eco-friendly toys range, starting with a pre-Christmas push. Xpert will help develop an e-commerce site, SEO, affiliate marketing and social media comms.

BCS PR, BCS Creative and BCS Digital have rebranded to become bcsAgency, offering PR, marketing and comms services. The Midlands-based tech agency has clients including Experian, Capital One, Siemens and Pirelli.

Tecnotree has asked Mi Liberty to lead its global PR programme. The telecoms and IT service provider appointed the agency after it ran one of its projects at the Mobile World Congress 2011. Mi liberty has been charged with promoting the importance of personalised customer care to telecoms operators and service providers and helping to establish Tecnotree as an industry thought-leader ahead of and during the Mobile World Congress in 2012.
