Bullet (Bite Communications)
James Warren is the founder and general manager of Bullet Online, the new media and internet division of Bite Communications. In pre-Bite days he worked with other agency founder members at Text 100. He then became an account director at Text spin-off Bite, where he worked on most accounts, but particularly Apple, BT, Konami and Omnimedia.
Warren, 28, had the idea for Bullet when he was on holiday: jotting down a list of potential services that a marriage of his twin passions - the internet and his job - could provide, he put together the beginnings of what was to become a business pitch. Bite's management team let him pursue the idea and Bullet (then called Bite Digital) took shape. Along with Bite account director Tanya Roach he had already started Vampire, Bite's added creative solutions consultancy - a concept they sold to Sony in the run-up to the 20th anniversary of the Walkman.
Over the past five years Warren has built up the digital business, with a range of clients including Oracle, BT, Logitech and ebookers.com.
Bullet offers online services to PR and marketing teams, including online press office development, marketing extranets, web site content consultancy, web casts and electronic press packs. Warren's belief is that the internet represents the future for the public relations industry - so much so that he thinks 99 per cent of communications business will be completed using a screen and a keyboard.
Bite is preparing to spin Bullet off as a separate company. Warren is also on the Bite management team, responsible for the agency's global IT infrastructure. Warren has presented extensively to IPR workshops on digital PR and his ideas have both brought extra revenue to Bite and cemented its relationships with existing clients.
