BBC axe falls on the PR agencies of Doctor Who, Holby City and Casualty

The BBC has sacked the three agencies working on flagship TV dramas Doctor Who, Holby City and Casualty.

The shows, which are exported worldwide and bring in massive UK audiences, are taking their comms in-house in order to make savings.

Agencies affected are Premier PR for Doctor Who, Ian Johnson Publicity for Holby City and Just Williams PR for Casualty.

BBC Vision acting head of comms Sam Hodges said: 'The comms have been brought in-house as part of our dedication to securing greater efficiencies.'

He declined to say how much money this would save.
