Pitch brings in Benchmark Sport's Drew Barrand as associate director

Sport PR specialists Pitch has appointed Benchmark Sport's head of media and comms Drew Barrand as an associate director.

Barrand, whose work in the sport industry spans across 13 years, will oversee Pitch’s key clients and drive forward marketing strategies.  

Pitch’s managing director Juliet Slot said: ‘Drew’s experience and knowledge within the sports sector make him ideally suited to delivering great campaigns for our clients. His reputation within the industry and extensive network of contacts are second-to-none.'

During Barrand’s five-year period at Benchmark Sport he worked for clients such as David and Victoria Beckham, Jenson Button, Michael Johnson, Ian Thorpe, EA Sports, the Premier League and Virgin Active.

He was involved in the company’s international brands including the Sport Industry Awards, Beyond Sport’s global sports and development initiative, talent management agency Benchmark Talent and sports participation brand Square Mile Sport.

Prior to his role at Benchmark Sport, Barrand worked as a journalist for eight years, both freelance and for Centaur, Haymarket and Sport Business.
