Lewis-Manning Hospice in comms hires

Lewis-Manning Hospice in Poole, Dorset, has brought in two recruits to help build its comms team.

Louise Blackwell joins as comms officer and Sara Sheppard joins as community fundraiser.

Blackwell said: 'I will be developing Lewis-Manning's brand identity, raising awareness about the charity locally, producing its magazine, website and fundraising campaigns.' She joins from Care UK, where she was an internal comms executive.

About one-third of Lewis-Manning Hospice's funding comes from NHS Bournemouth and Poole Primary Care Trust. The remaining £50,000 a month is raised by the hospice through fundraising initiatives and hospice shops.

Lewis-Manning Hospice supports more than 650 local people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
