Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

- Impetus Trust has recruited Asheem Singh, deputy director of the ResPublica think-tank, to the new role of director of policy and strategy. Singh has previously worked as a senior researcher for the Shadow Cabinet Office. Impetus Trust describes itself as 'the UK pioneer of venture philanthropy'.

- Kellogg's has hired James Ede as public affairs manager for its European business, based in Brussels. Ede previously worked for public affairs consultancy Landmark Europe and for the National Farmers' Union in London and Brussels. He reports to Marta Baffigo, director for global public and regulatory affairs.

- RTL Group has appointed American Chamber of Commerce lobbyist Bernando Matos as European affairs policy manager, reporting to Lyn Trytsman-Gray, senior vicepresident for European public affairs.

- Hanover has been appointed by HomeSun to support its campaign to promote the financial incentive that feed-in tariffs have given to the adoption of residential solar technology. The agency won the brief after a competitive pitch and will work with HomeSun on an integrated public and government relations campaign to maximise awareness of the value of solar panels in residential homes.
