Public Affairs: WS brings in top lawyer

Weber Shandwick has added to its UK public affairs practice with the appointment of a senior government lawyer.

Ruth McEwen has more than a decade of experience working for the Department of Health and helped to draft proposals for the new NHS architecture and GP-led commissioning in the current Health and Social Care Bill.

She will be joining Weber Shandwick in September to specialise in health lobbying, taking the role of associate director.

WS corporate comms and public affairs chairman Jon McLeod said McEwen would bring 'in-depth knowledge of health policy and deep insight into the workings of Parliament'.
