Opinion: Letters of the Week - Intern schemes need a global outlook to have maximum effect

PRWeek is right to point out the need for recruitment and training initiatives that emphasise diversity ('Interns scheme sets fine example', Opinion, 5 August). Taylor Bennett Foundation's initiative is commendable.

An important issue is the need for such schemes for emerging markets. These countries can then learn from UK experience and adapt it to their own context. There is a need to recruit and train people from a variety of disciplines and experiences both to work in India, for example, and in the UK. But this will require a global mindset with cultural sensitivity.
