He joined Sony in 2005 and was responsible for promoting some of the company’s biggest US-based artists, as well as a number of The X Factor contestants, including Chico and Jedward.
Hinchliffe has left Sony to set up Soundcheck Entertainment, a PR consultancy that will also offer artist management and assistance on live events. The initial roster of clients at the new company will include Celine Dion, Dolly Parton, Doris Day and John Barrowman.
Commenting on the launch of the consultancy, Hinchliffe said: ‘I felt it was time to expand and I’ve always wanted to get into management. Setting up Soundcheck seemed like a good opportunity to merge the two.’
Soundcheck Entertainment will be based in London on Wardour Street.
