Flack: (saving) on expenses - Spice Market, London W1

Reviewer Ruth Walters, account director, Skywrite

- What is it good for?

Spice Market is the uber-cool new kid in Chinatown, where high-spec luxury meets traditional south east Asian cuisine. Housed in the heart of bustling Soho and within the W Hotel, it is an ideal lunch or dinner-time respite from a busy day of meetings.

- Signature dish

The chargrilled chicken with kumquatlemongrass dressing is an explosion of so many flavours. The selection of fresh fish is also a perfect lighter choice. If you're not having a hard-working lunch, Asian beer Tsingtao slips down all too easily - be warned.

- Who's the boss?

Michelin-starred French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

- Tips please

The prix fixe lunch express, served from 12-4pm, is an absolute bargain and always features dishes from the main a la carte menu.

- What's the damage?

Prix fixe lunch express is £16 for two courses and £18 for three courses. Main courses range from £18 to £24.

Spice Market, W London Leicester Square, 10 Wardour Street, London, W1D 6QF. 020 7758 1088.
