The Met Police has responded to calls from Tom Watson MP for an overhaul of its comms following 'hackgate', by stating that it is holding a 'quick-time review' of protocols in order to 'incorporate immediate learning and ensure that transparency is in place'.

Tameside Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Greater Manchester has appointed Act PR for a three-year contract to provide PR and comms, after a seven-way pitch process. The trust is looking to strengthen both external and internal comms as part of a drive to become the hospital of choice for Tameside and Glossop.

Kent County Council interim head of comms Jill Rawlins has hit back at allegations in Private Eye magazine that she has been sacked following critical news coverage in the local press about the council leader embarking on a month-long car rally to South Africa. Rawlins stated that she has had her employment extended until September while the council searches for a permanent comms head.
