10 Yetis has invested in a start-up, The Online Video Company, to help cope with the demand by media for web clips and short online films to support digital media projects.

Fire PR has appointed Danny Brogan to the new role of editorial manager. Brogan, who starts at the end of August, joins from Mobile Choice, where he is currently reviews editor.

Lucre has hired VisitBritain's digital and social head Justin Reid to lead its social digital division. Reid will take up the position of group digital division director at the end of this month. He will report to Lucre director and founder Sally Hetherington.

We Are Social, the social media agency, has opened an office in Munich. The office will be headed by new MD Bastian Scherbeck, who joins from iCrossing in Munich, where he was senior social media manager.

Essential Communications, the technology marketing and PR agency, has hired Tom Charles as a business director. He will be responsible for driving new business and heading account management. Charles has previously worked at agencies TBCH and Haygarth.

Babel PR has appointed Peter Thomson as head of social media. In the newly created role, he will be responsible for delivering digital and social media services. Thomson joins from BRR, the New Zealand brand strategy firm.

CORRECTION A story in PRWeek last week stated that Research In Motion currently works with Edelman on digital PR and Razorfish on social media. In fact, Edelman holds the social media account, while Razorfish works on the digital business.
