Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Bell Pottinger Public Affairs has appointed Daniel Hamilton, director of the Big Brother Watch campaign group, to run its Brussels office.

Big Brother Watch was set up by the founders of the TaxPayers' Alliance to fight intrusions into privacy. Hamilton is the second Big Brother Watch director to join BPPA in recent months, after Alex Deane moved in February.

G4S, the global security group, has promoted Nicola Savage to head of PR and Tijs Broeke to head of public affairs in the UK and Ireland. Both report to UK corporate affairs director Paddy Toyne-Sewell.

BAA has hired Network Rail public affairs manager Chris Wiggan as head of public affairs for Stansted Airport. He will report to comms director Will Parkes, who joined last year from his role as head of government affairs at United Utilities.

The Commercial Broadcasters Association, the lobbying group for UK commercial broadcasters in the UK, has recruited Adam Minns as executive director. Minns is currently policy director at producers' trade body PACT.

Bellenden has been awarded the retained public affairs contract for examination board AQA. The agency has also appointed James Sachon from Redwood Consulting as an account director.
