PARIS: The French Foreign Affairs Ministry has appointed a new government spokesman, Francois Rivasseau, who also becomes the director of the Quai d'Orsay's Direction de la Presse, de l'Information et de la Communication (DPIC).
He replaces Anne Gazeau-Secret, who is to become Ambassador to The Netherlands. Until now, Rivasseau has acted as Gazeau-Secret's second-in-command, holding the title of porte-parole adjoint, a position which will now be held by Bernard Valero, who was previously a DPIC sub-director.
