Golin/Harris Ludgate has poached Cardew and Co director Peter Gaze to expand its financial division.
Gaze joined this week as a divisional director in charge of the built environment sector team, reporting to financial PR managing director Reg Hoare. He leads an initial team of three, with plans to recruit two more at senior account manager level within the next two years.
Gaze replaces former Ludgate director Chris Lynch, who left to join financial PR agency Square Mile (PR Week, 30 June).
Gaze's brief is to cover construction and building materials, engineering, real estate and utilities. He will focus on forging international links with other Golin/Harris offices, with a view to winning cross-border accounts.
'We hope Peter can also use his skills in the utilities sector to gain clients,' said Hoare. 'We worked with Yorkshire Electricity in the past, but have not worked with any utilities companies since'.
His appointment comes just weeks after Ludgate appointed Ceri Evans to head the public affairs team (PR Week, 29 September) and Jane Hurley to lead the technology division (PR Week, 8 September).
Former BBC news producer Jonathan Rooper has replaced Gaze at Cardew and Co. He joins as an associate director after 20 years at the BBC. He will work on accounts including United Utilities and the Strategic Rail Authority.
