Diary has been alerted to something more rare than a soldier who thinks the MoD is straightforward - a friendly IT journalist.
His name is Ben Hammersley, internet reporter for The Times, and he was brought to Diary's attention by Golin/ Harris senior account executive Clare Pomphrey.
Pomphrey was particularly taken with Hammersley's attention-grabbing requests for information on IT PR database Response Source. One example includes 'my dearest Executivo des Relatione Publicazi. Kindly Uncle Ben wishes to remind you all that if you can e-mail me any pictures of Bluetooth devices this afternoon, you'll have a jolly fine chance of being in The Times'.
Diary can reveal Hammersley has a refreshing attitude to the PR industry. 'It annoys me when IT journalists are complete bastards to PR people,' he says.
More poetry, please! 'I'll talk to anybody. It's not as if I'm being called every day by estate agents.'
Any tech PROs wanting to shower him with top stories and exclusives, get in line because he already has a fan club and is booked for breakfasts well into February.
But Diary is unsure what to make of his claim that he'd received two marriage proposals the day we spoke to him.
