B-M names new health MD.

Burson-Marsteller has appointed Richard Anderson as MD for healthcare, EMEA. Anderson is a former MD of Bell Pottinger Health and has more recently been working as an independent consultant. He joins B-M on 1 September and will be based in London.

The Food and Drug Administration, the US drugs watchdog, has proposed new rules for medical mobile phone apps. The regulator has launched a three-month consultation on its plans to oversee medical apps that could present a risk to patients if they do not work.

The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) has published details about how much the NHS spends on medicines. Ten key facts have been brought together to help increase the degree of transparency and highlight where the UK is succeeding and where improvements can be made.

The Healthcare Communications Association has invited its members to submit feedback on its new pitching standards guide before the document is finalised. Members have until 31 July to give feedback on the draft of the Pitching Code of Conduct.
