PUBLIC SECTOR: Carers group gets full-time media man

The Carers' National Association has appointed Rory Hegarty as full-time media manager as part of a drive to raise its profile and promote greater awareness of carers and the problems they face. Hegarty joins CNA from Age Concern, where he spent a year as senior media relations officer. He will be responsible for raising the profile of the association and Britain's six million carers in both press and broadcast media. Hegarty will also help develop the CNA website and appoint a web manager. The charity aims to continue its relationship with Third Sector PR, which provided media support prior to the appointment.
