Public Sector: Blair calls for 'simple' PR

Council communicators need to use 'simple, powerful language' to set out the benefits of reforming business rates, according to one agency comms boss.

London Communications Agency director Luke Blair writes this week's public sector column about plans contained in the Localism Bill going through Parliament that could allow councils to offer discounts on business rates.

Blair said: 'The business rate review and the Localism Bill will need to work together.'

He added that it will require council communicators to 'work hard at conveying in simple, powerful language the benefits of reforming an opaque system that people simply find incredibly hard to get their heads around'.
