Healthcare: The Week in Healthcare

German firm's double brief

Boehringer Ingelheim, the German pharmaceutical firm, is understood to be pitching two global product briefs for new lung disease treatments. The company is thought to be readying PR budgets of up to $3m for support on its Olodaterol and BIBF 1120 products.

CCD PR is to handle a project aimed at helping to raise awareness of food intolerance as a trigger for migraines.

This will tie in with Migraine Awareness Week, which runs from 4-10 September. CCD will be running an intensive media relations programme.

The Association for Healthcare Communications and Marketing has launched a mentoring scheme for people working in comms, marketing and engagement in the NHS and wider healthcare fields. The AHCM is encouraging professionals to volunteer to become mentors, and those newer to healthcare comms and engagement or looking to further develop their careers, to sign up to find a mentor.

Colin Mackay, the former comms and partnerships director for the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations, has joined APCO Worldwide as a director of the firm's healthcare practice in Brussels.
