BRUSSELS: Gavin Anderson and Company has launched its first office in Brussels, signalling the agency's renewed drive into public affairs. It opened this week as part of GA's strategy to increase its offerings on national, European and trans-Atlantic PA issues.
The launch follows the recent acquisition of Washington-based PA outfit Chlopak, Leonard Schechter and Associates (CLS). According to CLS founding partner Peter Schechter, Brussels will concentrate on PA alongside its corporate and financial PR capabilities, complementing the US offering.
'Our clients increasingly need support in the Eurozone; an established GA network, coupled with CLS's international depth, provides them with an integrated service,' said Schechter.
GA executive vice chairman Ian Kortlang said further expansion will follow, with a possible Berlin launch.
Former GA Paris MD, Gilles Teisseyre, becomes CEO in Brussels, which will initially open with five staff, rising to ten by next summer. His remit includes overseeing the development of GA's public affairs network across Europe.
