Seventy Seven PR to promote fast-growing fashion e-commerce site Showroom Privé

Showroom Privé, an online retailer backed by the same venture capital fund as Facebook, has appointed Seventy Seven PR to promote the brand following its UK launch.

Showroom Privé is one of Europe’s largest private member e-commerce websites, selling heavily discounted designer fashion and homewares to members across Europe. In August last year Accel Partners, the Silicon-valley based venture capital fund, invested €37m into the brand.

Following a pitch process, Seventy Seven has been retained as the brand's first UK PR agency and has been charged with raising awareness of the brand, particularly in fashion and personal finance media. The agency will also be working to drive traffic to its UK site.

The online consumer retail sector is rapidly growing, spurred by the success of social commerce sites such as Groupon, also backed by Accel.

Based in Paris, with a turnover of €130m a year, Showroom Privé is expanding quickly and recently launched in Spain, Italy, and the UK. The site is currently growing at 200,000 new members a month.

Seventy Seven has experience in working with growing online brands after it was retained by UK-based kids' social networking phenomenon Moshi Monsters in April this year.
