Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, which was responsible for planes such as the Hurricane, Hawker and Hunter, has appointed Citigate Dewe Rogerson to handle corporate comms across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Citigate will support the company's EMEA efforts to raise its profile with businesses, governments and high net-worth individuals.
The US-based firm, which has a manufacturing plant in Chester, is also understood to be looking to increase its media voice in the debate about the evolution of the UK's manufacturing sector.
Phil Anderson, executive director, Citigate Dewe Rogerson, who will lead the account, said: 'Hawker Beechcraft is a genuine British manufacturing success story. While it remains a tough economic environment for business travel, it's clear Hawker is best-placed to win a greater share of this market.'
The firm makes a number of private aircraft including the King Air and the Hawker 4000, and sees EMEA as a potentially key market, as the planes are designed to take off and land in hostile terrains often found in Africa.
