Age UK director of policy and public affairs Andy Harrop is leaving to become general secretary of the Fabian Society. Harrop, a Labour candidate at the 2005 general election, replaces Sunder Katwala, who is departing to set up the Social Justice Communications Agency. Harrop starts the new role in September.

Belgrave has won four contracts to provide planning comms support for Travelodge hotel applications. The property specialist will be providing stakeholder comms for proposed developments in Basingstoke, Chertsey, Epsom and Sutton.

TTA Group, the dedicated property arm of Chime Communications, has hired three new client directors including Westminster City Council media relations manager Charles Begley.

UNIFE, the European rail industry body, has appointed Philippe Citroen as director general. The French national is chief executive of France-headquartered rail and public transport firm Systra.

Commucan, the PR and social media agency, has signed up Gardant Communications consultant Jennifer Roberts as an account manager. Public affairs specialist Gardant recently lost partner Rory O'Neil, who left without announcing his next move.
