Shelley Tomes was due at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Tuesday to face three counts of fraud by false representation against her former employer, The Cult PR.

The prosecution argued that Tomes had told The Cult PR that she 'funded deposits for PR events from her own pocket and claimed the money back from her employers'.

'The two statements we have show they were paid for by other organisations and she was totally dishonest and making dishonest claims.'

Tomes, who now runs her own agency Fresh Milk PR, failed to appear to face the charges for the second time. She was originally expected in court on 10 May, but did not attend, stating she was unfit to work or travel.

The prosecution has called for a full medical report, and suggested that the trial could be heard 'in bits', if it helped Tomes.

The case has been adjourned until 12 July.
