Peterstow Aquapower has given science, engineering and technology specialist Proof Communication a six-figure brief for strategic comms, stakeholder engagement and media relations until the end of 2011.

The agency will be responsible for all comms for the hydraulic mine drilling systems manufacturer throughout the world. Most activity will be centred on the UK and the initial target market of South Africa.

Findel, the UK-listed home shopping, education supplies and healthcare equipment provider, has brought in Tulchan Communications to handle its financial and capital markets-related comms.

BackBay Communications, the US financial PR agency that recently opened a London office, has been handed a retained brief by the Shareholder Representative Services. SRS is a professional representative of shareholders following M&A transactions, representing institutional investors. BackBay will run the account from its Boston, New York and London offices.

Prudential, the FTSE100 insurance and pensions giant, has hired Nigel Snell as director of public relations, UK & Europe. He joins from LV=, where he was corporate comms director, and has also worked at AXA.
