BP man joins Powerscourt

The man at the centre of BP's PR operation for over 20 years is to join the advisory group of City agency Powerscourt.

Roddy Kennedy, BP's head of media until retirement in 2009, will advise Powerscourt's clients across a range of corporate issues.

Agency MD Rory Godson said Kennedy had 'unrivalled experience at the heart of a global company that has faced every variety of comms challenge'.

Kennedy is understood to have been drafted back in by BP during the height of the Deepwater Horizon disaster to advise on comms. Powerscourt has worked with the board of BP since 2006.
