ISTANBUL: Fast food giant McDonald's has ended its nine-month search for a PR agency in Turkey after hiring MPR Halkla Iliskiler AS.
The account was won following a five-way pitch, with a brief to handle PR for the firm across Turkey. No budget figure was released.
The agency replaces Capitol which worked with McDonald until late last year. Since then, the company has been without an agency.
According to Meral Sackan, general manager of MPR, the agency's responsibilities include strategic communications consultancy, marketing oriented public relations, media relations, internal and franchise relations, crisis management, event and sponsorship management.
MPR has set up a team of five who will report to the McDonald's Turkey PR and communications manager, Serap Gokcebay.
McDonald's opened its first restaurant in Turkey in 1986. It currently has 131 outlets.
