Technology: Top Facebook app targets big brands

The firm behind Facebook's most popular football app has called in Dynamo PR to help further boost its reach and attract big brands as sponsors.

Nordeus launched football manager game Top Eleven in May 2010.

In the past year, it has overtaken other top games such as EA Sports' FIFA Superstars to become the leading Facebook game in this category.

According to appdata.com figures produced on 9 June, Top Eleven has 700,158 daily users on average. Its closest rival, FIFA Superstars, has 519,922 daily users.

Part of Dynamo's brief is to build on this growth by raising the game's profile to gaming, social and tech press, as well as potential advertisers, investors and users. It hopes to replace fictional sponsors from the game with real sponsors, targeting big names such as Vodafone, O2 and Sony.

Dynamo plans to persuade these brands that by attaching their name to a big online game and by sponsoring fictional teams alongside real ones, they can extend their reach.

Nordeus COO Tomislav Mihajlovic said: 'We want to create publicity that alerts brands to advertising possibilities within Top Eleven, start a dialogue with the wider analyst and investment community, and drive more users to our games.'

Dynamo creative MD Peter Bowles will head the account and initially report to Mihajlovic.
