BORDER LINES: Tanguy takes PR job at DaimlerChrysler

PARIS: DaimlerChrysler France has appointed Jean-Rol Tanguy as head of external relations and communications. Prior to taking the role, Tanguy was director of press relations for Mercedes Benz, where he was credited with spearheading the company's successful efforts at defending a newly-introduced Mercedes model which had been accused of posing safety problems. Tanguy is the son of Colonel Rol Tanguy, a former French Communist Party official and an important figure in the wartime resistance.
