BERLIN: CNN is boosting its PR and publicity work across German-speaking countries.

Former PR manager for Advanced Communication Technologies Amelie Heinrichsdorff last week took up the newly-created position of PR manager at Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) Deutschland. The Berlin-based CNN parent company is responsible for certain management functions at CNN, including PR.

Claudia Coles, executive director of PR for CNN in London and the person to whom Heinrichsdorff reports, linked the appointment to CNN's European expansion: 'The presence of CNN on the German market has never been so strong,' she said.

Heinrichsdorff is tasked with providing CNN with positioning and promotional support. She is responsible in Germany for CNN International and for the German language station CNN Deutschland. She will also work on CNN.com and, for the web site n-tv.deCNN.de, due to be launched this month.
