Brands looking to get themselves featured in the next Hollywood blockbuster can now register on-line, to be linked directly with producers, prop buyers and set designers.

This is possible thanks to Freeprops.com - a new web site where companies e-mail images of products or locations they wish to offer the film industry.

A thousand decision-makers in the UK film and TV industry have been given passwords to the site, allowing them to 'order' products as varied as food and drink, cameras and tools, directly from brand owners.

It is an international site, featuring products from the UK and the US.

Founder Steve Read believes the web is the perfect tool for product placement.

He said PR companies often claimed to handle product placement, 'but in reality haven't a clue who to talk to beyond the soaps'.
