Last week's CIPR Excellence Awards, held in the midst of the FIFA crisis, couldn't have come at a worse time for Vero Communications and boss Mike Lee.

Public recognition of 'prominent PR figures' is extremely low among the 'yoof', as well as among the general British public, moans a survey by PR agency Stone Junction. Apparently the most recognised PR person among 18- to 24-year-olds is Alastair Campbell, followed 'disappointingly' by Samantha Jones from Sex and the City. And in a further shocking twist, Patsy Stone from Absolutely Fabulous had more than double the recognition levels of the mighty Daniel J Edelman.
