PUBLIC SECTOR: IDeA strengthens its comms unit

The Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA), created by the Government 18 months ago to help local authorities make service improvements, has strengthened its communications unit by appointing Paul Bailey as press and public relations manager. Bailey joins from Barking and Dagenham Council where he spent five years as head of PR. He has a brief to ensure the IDeA's wide-ranging work for improvements in local government operations is given a high media profile. Michael Turner also joins as press officer from the Construction Confederation where he served as communications manager for two years.
