Voluntary Sector: The Week in Charities

Skillforce, the education charity, has appointed Forster to develop a new comms strategy following a competitive pitch process.

Forster will spend the next few months working with the charity to create a new strategic approach to engaging young people through schools.

LandAid, the property industry charity, has turned to strategic comms consultancy Redwood Consulting to support its fundraising activity on a pro bono basis. The charity's fundraising efforts attempt to harness the property industry's expertise and goodwill to help disadvantaged young people.

Swing Low Swing Charity, a fundraising organisation for charities Ataxia UK and Reach, has launched an updated website. This is part of a renewed PR drive for its tag rugby tournament and gala dinner, which will be hosted by Dancing On Ice 2011 finalist and TV presenter Laura Hamilton on 9 July.

Freshbaked PR, a Cardiff-based agency, will be visiting businesses across the city in the company's ice cream van this week, serving ice cream in exchange for charitable donations. The funds will be donated to children's charity Ty Hafan as it celebrates National Ice Cream Week, which runs until Sunday.
