He was Tulchan’s first consultant in 2000 when Andrew Grant set up the City agency after leaving Brunswick.

Honnor also joined from Brusnwick, where he had worked as an associate partner in New York and London from 1994. During that period he spent two years on secondment to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, where he was a special adviser to Virginia Bottomley.

Honnor could not be reached for comment, but he is understood to be establishing his own consultancy specialising in private equity and hedge funds.

He has previously handled comms on the IPO of Goldman Sachs and Royal Bank of Scotland’s acquisition of ABN AMRO.

Honnor is the second senior Tulchan consultant to quit the first in recent weeks, following James Bradley, whom PRWeek revealed was leaving to join Finsbury.

Tulchan, which has recently changed from a limited company to a LLP structure, has won a number of significant accounts in 2011, including prestigious briefs with Lloyds Banking Group and security firm G4S.
