SAN FRANCISCO: GCI Group senior vice-president Paul Laland, who founded and has led the firm's global biotech practice since 1999, has left to join gene therapy company Deltagen as vice-president of communications. Laland confirmed that two senior vice-presidents from the San Francisco biotech team, Rick Roose and Nina Ferrari, will take over his previous responsibilities.
