PUBLIC SECTOR: Luther Pendragon lands streetworks job

The National Joint Utilities Group has hired Luther Pendragon to handle a campaign to promote the positive side of streetworks. The appointment follows a competitive pitch. The three-strong LP team is headed by consultant Jon Bennett, who reports to NJUG director Irene Elsom. The organisation represents the interests of firms and utilities involved in streetworks. Members include the Electricity Association and Cable & Wireless. The contract is reviewed in six months' time. NJUG chairman Bill Linksey said representatives from the organisation are to meet local transport minister Keith Hill next week to discuss ways to minimise disruption to road users.
