The Arizona State Tourist Board has invited pitches from British PR companies, to handle its consumer promotions.
The western territory currently retains McCluskey and Associates for its UK promotions. However, it is legally required to review the arrangement every four years, and is therefore inviting pitches from any interested party.
Tourist Board representative Stacey Pearson explained the formal process of the review as a way of 'ensuring that tax payers are getting the best deal'.
The Tourist Board's brief includes raising awareness of the state and its tourist attractions, as well as promoting business within its territory.
In addition to vast swathes of desert, Arizona is home to the Grand Canyon, historical sites relating to native American culture, and a number of ski resorts.
