Split comms role at HSBC

HSBC has taken the unusual step of appointing two senior figures to jointly head the bank's global comms.

As revealed on prweek.com/uk (10 May), Europe's biggest bank has hired Zurich Financial Services Group's global head of corporate comms Pierre Goad and Credit Suisse's chief comms officer Charles Naylor.

The pair, joining as global co-heads of comms, will take over from departing group comms director Richard Beck, who is leaving to pursue other interests. It is thought that Goad will take on internal affairs and strategic comms, while Naylor will control external comms.

As PRWeek went to press it was unclear where the pair would be based. HSBC declined to comment.
