The Forster Company has been appointed by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to work on its latest safety campaign for holidaymakers.
The agency is part of a consortium, which includes management company AEA Technology Environment and The Consumers' Association, chosen by the FCO to develop and promote the campaign.
The campaign, called Know Before You Go, is set to launch in the spring.
The Forster Company has appointed a team of three, headed by managing director Jilly Forster. Others handling the brief are account director Suzy Hughes, and account manager Sunita Sharma.
According to Sharma the promotional work for the pounds 1m campaign will be to target consumers as well as those in the travel industry.
More than 51 million overseas trips are made each year by British citizens.
The campaign will focus on issues such as obtaining adequate travel insurance and advice about climate and political situations in destinations.
The Forster Company specialises in PR work on social and environmental issues.
Clients include the Department for the Environment Transport and Regions, the Department of Health, the Millennium Commission, Barnardo's, The Body Shop and Cannons Group.
This is the second major government campaign it has won this year. Last month, the Department of Health chose the agency to handle its MINDOUT campaign to combat discrimination against those with mental health problems.
