Based at the university's new Riverside Campus site, the Riverside Innovation Centre is due to launch in September, and de Winter has been brought on board to manage the marketing of the facility.
Centre manager Lynn Dwyer said: 'We are developing our comms strategy to promote the centre to individuals and businesses across the region who will be able to use our services and facilities to help them achieve their business goals.'
The comms programme, which includes brand strategy, design and PR, will focus on building awareness of the business innovation centre's offering.
The centre's name and branding was recently unveiled, and the agency is now implementing the comms campaign with media relations activity, starting later this month ahead of the site launch.
The centre is being part-funded and supported by the European Development Fund and the North West Development Agency.
It has been created to sustain business talent and innovation.
