Top ten international law firm Cameron McKenna (CM) has called in crisis management consultancy Regester Larkin to handle the fallout from sexual harassment allegations at the law firm's Tashkent office.
CM head of marketing Andrew Powell has hired Regester Larkin on daily time fees to assist the firm's global retained agency, GCI Group.
The appointment follows the resignation earlier this year of the head of CM's operation in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Ilia Laroslavski, over a string of harassment allegations made by former staff.
Powell refused to confirm this was the source of the brief, but said: 'We hired them to work on one or two issues and think it will last several months. The agency will work with GCI, which remains our main adviser.'
The GCI team, led by head of professional services Conor Pickering, works for CM in the UK, Europe, north America and Asia-Pacific on business-to-business, trade and corporate PR. GCI has worked for CM for three years and is thought to have supported the appointment of additional crisis management experts.
The Regester Larkin account will be run by joint MD Judy Larkin. She reports to Powell, who staged a competitive pitch for the business.
CM operates through 23 offices in 12 countries worldwide, including three in the UK.
