Grandfield takes Dafter on board in non-exec role

Former corporate affairs director of Enterprise Oil, Ray Dafter, has joined corporate and financial specialist consultancy Grandfield as a board director.

Former corporate affairs director of Enterprise Oil, Ray Dafter, has joined corporate and financial specialist consultancy Grandfield as a board director.

Dafter left Enterprise Oil in 1999 after nine years at the company, in order to set up RMD Communications, his own practice, specialising in energy sector clients.

In his new position Dafter will hold the position of non-executive director, working 'seriously' with Grandfield, while continuing to look after his own clients through RMD.

Although the exact allocation of clients and time has yet to be worked out, it is anticipated he will take on existing Grandfield clients such as energy services company TXU Europe, as well as targeting new corporate clients in the energy and utilities sectors.

Dafter said: 'This is not just a case of working at board level, but understanding the utilities sector and its technologies.'
