- What is it good for?

Cecconi's is one of those special places you should reserve for the good times; celebrating a big win, finishing a campaign on a high, buttering your client up for a fee increase, that kind of thing.

Signature dishes

It is fair to say that everything on the menu is good, but if you are not put off by the negative perceptions that surround its production (a nice little reputation project perhaps?), go for the Veal Carpaccio to start, or the Ossobuco for main course.

- Who's the boss?

Simone Serafini is head chef and Giacomo Maccioni is the restaurant manager.

- Tips please?

A couple of Strega Martinis will encourage any client to sign off a bigger budget, or help you commiserate if they don't.

- What's the damage?

It is at the top end of the saving on expenses scale (about £10 for a starter and £20 for a main course), but if you have done some amazing work and the client is happy, then treat yourself.
