- 18 April: 'William & Kate' TV movie broadcast in US ahead of royal wedding.

The much-publicised US film based on the relationship between Prince William and his fiancee Kate Middleton is broadcast in the US today. It will be released on DVD on 25 April.

- 19 April: Tesco full-year preliminary results. The supermarket giant and the UK's biggest retailer announces full-year preliminary results. CEO Sir Terry Leahy stepped down last month after 14 years in the role and was succeeded by Philip Clarke.

- 19 April: Wimbledon pre-Championship press conference All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon, London. The annual pre-Championship press conference with prize money announced.

- 20 April: Conservative Party election broadcast BBC One, BBC2 and ITV1. The broadcast comes ahead of local elections in England and Wales on 5 May, and a referendum on whether to replace the current voting system with the alternative vote (AV) method.

- 21 April: The Queen's 85th birthday. This is Elizabeth II's first of two birthdays - her 'official' birthday is on 13 June.

- 24 April: Sunday Times Rich List, UK. The Sunday Times publishes its Rich List 2011, profiling the UK's 1,000 richest people and their families. Last year's rich list was topped by steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, followed by Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich.
