Opinion: Letters of the Week - 'Selfish' public sector claim is unfair and fails the test of time

It was extremely disappointing to read Luke Blair's argument (News, 1 April) that comms professionals in the public sector are becoming selfish.

Cuts and financial pressures have required many public sector public relations officers to consider how to raise their profile, but this does not have to be at the expense of the organisation. There are 24 hours in every day and within that is time to focus on your career and reputation. That has not changed just because the financial climate is harsh.
