Lucy Farndon, the Daily Mail's deputy City editor, has joined RBS to become head of content and strategy in its global banking and markets division. Additionally, the bank has promoted Sarah Small to the role of head of media relations for the division.

Brady, the provider of trading, risk management and settlement services to the metals, energy and soft commodities sectors, has appointed Redleaf Polhill to handle its financial PR and investor relations programme following a competitive pitch. The PR account is being led by Samantha Robbins, director of City and corporate, and the IR account by Paul Dulieu, director of Redleaf investor relations.

Coalition, the analytics company, has called in Smithfield to launch its first Coalition Report. Coalition analyses the reported income performance of the world's ten largest investment banks by segment and on a quarterly basis. It has given Smithfield the responsibility of launching the report and growing the brand outside of its traditional client base.

Bedrock, the private investment firm, has brought in Living PR to support its business development in the UK and Switzerland. This includes the establishment of a family office division.
